Privacy Policy
Last updated July 18, 2026
Kitchen Hearth is operated by MKF Technologies, LLC, a limited liability company organized in Florida, United States (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what we collect when you use kitchenhearth.app, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
The short version: we collect what we need to run your recipe library, we use AI providers to generate and read recipes on your behalf, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and a password. Passwords are hashed and managed by our authentication provider — we never see or store your actual password.
- Content you create or save. Recipes you generate, import, or write; your cook's notes; photos you upload or have generated; and your conversations with the in-app cooking assistant (“Ask Chef”), which are saved alongside the recipe so you can return to them.
- Usage information. How many recipes you have generated in the current month and which plan you are on, so we can apply plan limits.
- Technical information. Standard server and security logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card details on its own systems. We never receive or store your full card number.
How we use your information
- To create your account and keep you signed in.
- To generate recipes, images, and answers you ask for, and to store them in your library.
- To apply free and paid plan limits, and to process subscriptions.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To keep the service secure, debug problems, and prevent abuse of the AI features.
AI processing
Kitchen Hearth uses third-party AI providers to deliver its core features. When you generate a recipe, import one, or ask the cooking assistant a question, the text you submit — and any photo you provide for import — is sent to those providers so they can return a result.
- Anthropic processes recipe text: generation, import extraction, side-dish suggestions, and your questions to Ask Chef.
- OpenAI processes requests to generate images of finished dishes.
We access these providers through their business APIs. Under their current API terms, content sent this way is used to return your result and is not used to train their models. We do not send your email address or account identity to these providers as part of a recipe request.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your recipes or conversations with other users. We share information only with the service providers we need to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication (your account, recipes, and conversations).
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Anthropic and OpenAI — AI generation, as described above.
- Stripe — payment processing, if you subscribe.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
How long we keep your information
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a recipe, it is removed from our database, along with the Ask Chef conversation attached to it. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account and its content. Backups and server logs may persist for a short period afterward before being overwritten.
Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, and delete your recipes at any time from within the app. You may also email us to request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR — we honor these requests regardless of where you live. Email mkfirestone@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls so that each account can only reach its own recipes. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Kitchen Hearth is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
